Growing up in San Diego, it was just a given that you spent a lot of time in Baja, Mexico. It was my families go-to vacation spot, and when I was a teen-ager, my entire high school filled the Tijuana bars on the weekends. Needless to say, I fell in love with Mex when I was very young. There's something special about this country, and it gets into your blood. As well as Baja, I've ventured down into the Mainland a few times, but I've never made it all the way to the Yucatán Peninsula. It's now time.
I've been planning a trip to Tulum in 2015, and sourcing boutique hotels. Papaya Playa stole my heart. This place looks like a gem of gems. It's right on the beach, secluded, eco-conscious, with amazing interiors, and the most relaxed vibe around. Plus, the room rates are incredibly reasonable. If you're looking for a Mexican getaway, check out more info on this spot here.
